RAR Imobiliária was initially established to manage the group's real estate assets, but less than a decade later, in 1995 the company considered estate business as a strategic business area. José António Teixeira, President of RAR Imobiliária for 16 years, started the brief history of the company, with several prizes and some mileposts, such as the Monchique building, a project that pioneered urban rehabilitation of Oporto Historic Centre and was considered, in 2006 in the Lisbon Real Estate Exhibition, the best national project for its characteristics of urban rehabilitation, "showing that urban rehabilitation is a long-standing bet for us", he says. A project that was about 16 years waiting to be approved by the local authority, but that began what is now called the process of refreshing of the city. However, the start of RAR Imobiliária's activity took place in Lisbon with two large projects. One near the Zoo, the “Jardim das Laranjeiras”, and another in Estoril, in the highest part of the “Palmela Park”. It followed the “Monchique” building and a large project in Matosinhos Sul, in 2007, “Edifício do Parque”, also considered the best project of the year for its sustainability characteristics.

In the following years the real estate crisis had practically resulted in the majority of real estate development and construction companies bankrupt. "We knew with skill and some luck, which makes the difference, to manage this troubled period with stability, always presenting positive results, having even in the worst year (2011) finishing the year with an EBITDA of more than 1 million euros", highlights José António Teixeira. And he adds, "we were resilient and we took some strategic measures that came to be confirmed as positive, being one of the first promoters to lease with a bying option and, having even increased twice our prices which gave a guarantee in the investment to our potential customers. "In 2014, the “Paço Lumiar” in Lisbon, a project designed by the architect Souto de Moura, was began to be built with most of the houses already sold. RAR Imobiliária is possibly the only real estate company certified in ID & l (Research and Development), in addition to the certification in Quality and Environment. Always guided by innovation RAR Imobiliária created "Design Factory" Studio, a creative department in the company dedicated not only to the development of projects of indoor design, furniture design and design of events and communication, also studying trends and concepts of living.
